Millwright Worker's Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble and reassemble the equipment for repair or transportation.
  • Build the foundation for machines.
  • Construct and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
  • Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
  • Grind and file machinery parts.
  • Supervise construction workers when using the equipment.
  • Work with various hand tools, including measuring instruments, welding, and brazing equipment.
  • Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving equipment and completing jobs.
  • Assembling and installing machines and then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
  • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
  • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
  • Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
  • Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
